The new BBC BingePass and SeasonPasses give fans access to beloved British entertainment for free with a library card
HOLLAND, Ohio – January 13, 2026 – Hoopla Digital, the only all-in-one digital media app for public libraries and their patrons, today announced the launch of a new BingePass and five new SeasonPass offerings, featuring BBC Studios content.
The BBC BingePass and five SeasonPasses are now available on the Hoopla platform in the U.S. and Canada. The titles include:
- BBC BingePass – featuring nearly 300 episodes and specials from beloved series like “Call the Midwife,” “Father Brown,” “Top Gear” and “Ripper Street” – all of which can be accessed with a single borrow.
- Doctor Who SeasonPass: Season 1
- Luther SeasonPass: Season 1
- The Office (UK) SeasonPass: Season 1
- Primeval SeasonPass: Season 1
- Silent Witness SeasonPass: Season 1
Since 2019, Hoopla has offered patrons hundreds of shows and movies from BBC Studios’ world-class, premium content portfolio like “Orphan Black,” “Sherlock” and “Death in Paradise.” The new titles join five existing SeasonPasses that have been available since Hoopla initially launched the SeasonPass offering in December of 2024:
- Absolutely Fabulous SeasonPass: Season 1
- DCI Banks SeasonPass: Season 1
- Inspector Lynley Mysteries SeasonPass: Season 1
- Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators SeasonPass: Season 1
- Wallander SeasonPass: Season 1
“BBC Studios’ content has proven to be very popular among Hoopla patrons, becoming one of the top content providers on our platform,” said Cat Zappa, Vice President of Digital Acquisitions at Hoopla Digital. “We are always looking to grow and diversify our BingePass offerings to better meet the needs of libraries and their patrons, and we’re happy to expand our partnership with BBC Studios to provide even more great educational and entertainment content to patrons ad-free and at no cost.”
The BBC BingePass joins Hoopla’s collection of more than 100 BingePasses, a unique innovation from Hoopla that offers unlimited, free access to educational and entertaining collections of streaming content for seven days with just one borrow. SeasonPass, a newer streaming feature, enhances TV viewing by bundling a single season of a TV series into one borrow. Both BingePasses and SeasonPasses grew in demand by patrons in 2025, with borrows increasing by 39% in 2025 and 13.4 million overall total titles circulated within BingePass since 2021 – showing that patrons continue to favor more diverse streaming and video content from libraries.
Hoopla is available in more than 11,500 public libraries across the U.S., Canada, Australia and New Zealand, including Chicago Public Library, San Francisco Public Library and Los Angeles Public Library. To access content on Hoopla, cardholders of participating libraries can download the free Hoopla mobile app on their Android or iOS device or visit hoopladigital.com.
