The weather’s getting warmer, the grass is getting greener, the spring allergens are out in full force…and the summer readers are getting ready to hit the books!

Hoopla supports libraries during this busy season by curating collections, providing ready-to-use assets, and offering a diverse catalog that aligns with major 2026 summer reading themes, as well as perennial reader favorites.

Unearth a Story™ with CSLP

Hoopla is a proud sponsor of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP) Summer Symposium and the 2026 theme, Unearth a Story™. This theme celebrates the joy of discovery and emphasizes that every person and every community has stories waiting to be found through books, programs, and local knowledge.

To support this theme, Hoopla has created dedicated collections for young readers. The kids’ Unearth a Story collection features engaging titles that spark curiosity, encourage exploration, and invite children to dig into storytelling across formats. The teen collection highlights stories of self-discovery, mystery, and personal history, helping teens connect reading to their own lived experiences and communities.

Libraries can also visit the Hoopla Resource Center to access downloadable marketing materials, digital assets, and program support tools designed specifically for CSLP 2026. These resources make it easy to promote summer reading both in-library and online.

iREAD 2026: Plant a Seed, Read

For libraries participating in iREAD, the 2026 theme Plant a Seed, Read offers another rich framework for summer programming. Rooted in the farm-to-table concept, this theme draws a parallel between how farms nourish our bodies and how libraries nourish our minds.

Hoopla’s Plant a Seed, Read Kids and Young Adult collection supports exploration of culture, history, science, health, and human connection. Titles within this collection help readers see how stories, like food, connect us to our communities and ecosystems, making it a natural fit for hands-on programs, book discussions, and cross-generational reading.

Other Popular Summer Reading Favorites

Beyond themed collections, Hoopla’s expert book team recommend a wide range of popular titles that consistently perform well during summer reading programs.
